Happy 2009!

Hope everyone has recovered from new year celebrations... =) I have to admit that our recent blog postings have been a bit depressing as they have been filled with injury reports! But at least it is the 'off' season which means plenty of rest time before triathlons in 2009! I am actually trying to figure out a race or two before Eagleman in June... deciding between an olympic race in NC or a couple of local sprints. I am still torn about Philly... it is two weeks after Eagleman... Kenny Mo says I should pull the trigger and race Philly... I will decide shortly.

I am guessing Dave is racing w/ TNT for Philly. Chuck? Michaelle?

Hope everyone has a great week...

I am racing Philly solo. I don't feel like doing it through TNT again. The new year begins like the old one-a trip to Texas!

I realized that it has been since October that I put my toes into the water. When I get back, it starts again.

Shannon-best of luck at Disney.

Hello ALL - I have hired Todd as my triathlon coach for IMLP. I received my first two week workout schedule this past Sunday. I am doing well with only slight muscle soreness. Of couse if you can count that means it has only been 2 days. Six and a half months till IMLP. Swimming is the hardest because it is my worst sport and I had not done any swimming since August except for two short swims between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I will be doing Philly Tri with TNT. I am also signed up for Black Bear. I also want to do another short tri in April or May (local). I am almost certain that I will do the Broad Street Run and the Run for the Cure but I think I need to ask Todd about my schedule. I may do a marathon in April if Todd allows.

Good Luck Shannon and Michaelle

Congratulations Dave on getting started! Sounds like everyone is having swim "issues" - except maybe Shannon ;->). T3 is organizing a masters swim class at Sweat in February, so I'm contemplating spending 2 nights per week in the pool...

Looking forward to getting to Disney World on Friday - the half marathon not so much. I'm very glad I signed up, however, as otherwise no working out would have occured at all.

How close to full is the Philly Tri? I was thinking Philly, New Jersey State Olympic and Nation's. Plus Black Bear and other wimpier sprints. Broad Street of course.

Hey, do we all have a date? Maybe Shannon and I will figure out a meeting schedule this weekend.

Hi all. I am almost positive that Philly Olympic is closed. Would you do the sprint? Not sure what I am doing this summer. Will have to wait to see how the shoulder heals. Right now I can't even lift my arm three inches. Being one handed is really tough. Congratulations to our two Disney Princesses Shannon and Shelly. Way to go girls. Did you see any other Princesses at Disney? Did you get some great medals? Add a picture to the blog when you can. Have a great week

Hey kids - happy new year!

I'm looking at doing only sprints this year...first I need to get my hips straightened out, get through rehab, and get over the achilles tendonitis. I just learned yesterday that I have two stress fractures in each foot! They're old, though. Could be why my feet cramp up during the run. Who knows?

I just sent you all an email about a run on Super Bowl Sunday. Eric and I will be in Vegas. I couldn't do it anyway...I am still not 'cleared' to run yet. Hopefully two more weeks of this crap and then I can start running again! I put on too much weight on the honeymoon and instead of getting rid of it, I think I added to it...so I'm getting depressed! Ugh. Hopefully by February I'll be running more than 15 minutes at a time!

Congratulations Shannon and Shelly on your runs! That's great! I hope your recovery is going well!
