Happy February

Hi all, It has been a long time since we started a new blog. How is everyone. PT is going pretty good. Starting to get some mobilitity but not alot of strength, but it will come back. What has everyone been up to?

Glad to hear that PT is going well Bernadette... and thanks to Facebook... it is clear to see how Dave's training is going! =) Things here in DC are going well... trying to hammer my dissertation proposal and finalize my committee so I can hopefully defend it by early May...

Work is work! (Ugh!!) Working out has been going... my knee is still not doing what it needs to... I am seeing my ortho. next week to hear the verdict... we shall see! The only good thing is now it hurts no matter what I do... so I figure if I need to be mobile at my job, I am going to suck up the pain and workout.

I am looking forward to some spring weather... my trainer is now annoying and I am over the treadmill. =) I am running a half-marathon with some folks at the end of March... should be fun! Lots of beer at the end and we run along the boardwalk in VA Beach. First triathlon is slated for May... Eagleman is mid-June.

February has been less than happy. On the road to Tampa and Baton Rouge. While trying to do some yard work last Saturday, I apparently sprained my back/popped a disc out. On Flexeril and something else. Shutdown for two weeks. I am feeling better today, at least and have been able to sit at my desk mostly pain-free. It is supposed to be warm this weekend and it will kill me not to jump on the bike for the first outside ride. No swimming either. So much for getting into training full-bore in February.

Hey gang - Happy Hour on Wednesday, March 11th. How does the Boat House sound?

My training has been nonexistent. I did work out with the personal trainer yesterday and we did legs...so I can hardly walk today! Freaking walking lunges with 10 pound weights suck! I went to the chiropractor for the first time in a week and he yelled at me for doing squats and lunges because he didn't OK it. He's getting on my nerves! I think he wants people to come three times a week so he makes his money. I can't afford three times a week...so he said "I just hope you didn't reverse the work I've done". I think he's trying to give me a guilt trip...

Anyway - I did start running...in 8 minute intervals. So far so good. Except after doing those squats and lunges I couldn't put weight on my knee to stretch my hip flexers. Hopefully tomorrow it'll be back to normal.

In other things, my new Arbonne business is going pretty well. I'm trying to book my first party. The stuff is so great that it shouldn't be hard to get the ball rolling!

We're going to Pittsburgh this weekend to ski with my sister and her boyfriend so that'll be fun.

That's about it for me!

Bernadette - keep up the good work with the rehab and Dave - great job on the training!

Hopefully I'll see you all on the 11th!

Bernadette and I think we can make it next Wednesday. However, it depends on Todd's new schedule that comes out this Friday. His private training group will start meeting two nights a week starting next week. I think it will be Tuesday and Thursday. I will finalize when I get my schedule. Hope to see you ALL, we need to catch-up.
