Back from Disney

Bruce the Shark did not eat us, so we made it back from Disney World in one piece. The girls had a great time seeing all the princesses. I think we only saw about 10% of everything Disney World had to offer. I think next time we will find someone (ie, grandparent) to come along too so that Chuck can ride some big boy rides too!
Now that the my trip to the land of make believe is over, the reality of training again has kicked in. These past 2 months have been tough (busy) at work and have had me on the road alot, which has made any training non-existent. I am, however, ready to get back on the "horse" and start again. I think pushing 80 pounds around for 8 hours a day this past week was a good start and will be something that I will be building off. I too am having knee/shoulder soreness that I am trying to work through. I am heading to the gym today to shake off the rust. I look forward to getting together with the team here in the next couple of weeks to talk stategery for the 2008 triathlon season.

Did anyone say CUTE? My goodness!

OK - so who is doing the Jingle Bell Run on Sunday with me? Eric signed up but is backing out now that he found out his sprained ankle is really a broken leg. He chipped the bottom edge of his fibula. We'll find out on Friday what that means but he isn't going to do the 5K with me now. :(

In other news - tomorrow marks the halfway point in my weight loss challenge. My team was in the lead for the first three weeks and then even though we lost weight over Thanksgiving, it wasn't enough to keep us in 1st place. A team of 3 women in their 60's are beating us! So far they have lost 25 pounds and we've lost only 17.5...so I'm stepping up my game and getting back into spinning.

I also just found out that my gym is starting to offer Total Immersion swim clinics! The first one was this past weekend and since they didn't advertise in the gym I didn't find out about it until Saturday morning. I'm going to sign up for the next one. If you want me to keep you posted for when they occur, I'd be happy to post it on the blog.

Welcome back to training Chuck! I bought my little bootie shoe coverings for biking outside but right now I've got the pin in my bike for the trainer. I think I'm going to wait for the spring to get back outside...unless we have unseasonable warm weather between now and then.

And for my last topic...Danelle and Christa are both signing up for the Philly Tri again. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and sign up for the Olympic distance again. I'm definitely signing up for the D&Q Tri's in NJ. My half ironman is going to have to wait another year. I have to let the cartilage around my knees rebuild before I attempt the longer distances. ...who knows, though...I may change my mind and do the Turks & Caicos half ironman in December! We'll see if I have enough vacation days after the honeymoon.

That's it for me... Let me know if I'll see any of you on Sunday!

I am thinking of doing the 5K on Sunday... and I may drag my friend Adrian with me (she is running the half-marathon with me in Feb)... the only reason I am a maybe is I have TNT swimming on Saturday AM followed by an 11mile run. Last week's practice at St.Joe's was fun and sad (my Philly friends were not in the pool with me) AND to make matters worse... I was shipped down to the fast lane... and that workout kicked my butt!

Michaelle, Nicole and I signed up for the Philly tri Olympic distance on Saturday night after some wine and crap talking (I wonder who would talk smack???)... I am planning on doing Philly Women's and SheRox as well... probably some of those DQ events too...

Well - if it's any incentive for anyone else, I'm pretty sure Eric is not going to do the 5K so there is an entry up for grabs!

I am sorry, but I can't make it this Sunday. I am, however, a bit concerned about Eric. He broke his leg to get out of running with you. What are you doing to the boy?

Hi all. Merry Christmas to everyone. Chuck, loved the picture with you and the girls. Really cute. Do you have a picture with ou and Cinderella too? Was your wife able to go with you. Beth, sorry to hear about Eric. Is he having much pain? Have you set a wedding date? Congratulations on your weight loss, keep up the good work. I'm with you about biking in the cold. Won't see my bike outside till it's warm again. We are up for a get together after the holidays to start planning the next tri season. I was hoping for a buddy for the Philly tri sprint distance, anyone who hasn't signed up for the Olympic interested. Shannon, we are considering joining USAT. It looks like if we do 4 USAT events then it pays for the membership. Know you are involved with them so does it benefit us to join. Deidre, hello and how are you. How is the new job? Plan on starting to swim again after the new year. Body pump 2-3 times a week and spinning 3 times a week now. Any one thinking about the Hammonton tri in May? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.
