It was great to see so many of my training buddies at the mentor meeting last night. It should make this upcoming tri season fun and I am looking forward to continue what were were doing last summer/fall.
Look at your calendars to see if you are available to gather for a post-holiday drink since it has been so long. I would like to talk about how as mentors we can work together and would like suggestions from those that plan on participate again how to make the mentoring experience work better for the TNTer's. So even if you are just participating, I hope that you can make it out too.
I will suggest January 3rd at a location to be determined . Post your RSVP or comments here. If I don't speak to you before, I wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Excellent idea Chuck... (must be that new vehicle) I am all up for meeting for drinks... especially since I owe folks for help with my ethnography project.
3rd works for me...flexible with location... those two places we have met at for drinks & food before seemed okay...
Happy Holidays...
I'm free on the 3rd, too! I'll pass this on to Danelle since her company blocks the blogger.

Sounds great to me! The 3rd works! Looking forward to getting together! Happy Holidays to everyone!
How sad Danelle's company blocks the blogger...what do they think... people check it throughout the day and write multiple posts-- oh, wait! =)
Hey Beth, what was with the suggest that we get purple tank tops? Do you want me to look more like an idiot? I am slightly starting to get comfort with the skin tight clothes, but then to make it completely purple? That says, "Hey look at the big, fat purple guy with the beet red face. Is he having a heart attack? Is that normal?"
C'mon... if real men can wear spandex... purple should not be an issue!
PS: looks like the buddy run this saturday is Conshohocken... 9:30am if anyone would like to join. =)
PPS: chuck, you know that map of the snack shack meeting location I perhaps mocked you for in the past... could you be a dear and re-send it to me... it will make up for not answering my ethno. questions and perhaps causing me to fail out of my doctoral program. =)
I meant to apologize for not participating in your survey when I saw you on Tuesday. Appropriately chastised...I will email you the map.
Let me know when and where - I'm in for the happy hour drink.
I missed the TNT meeting, need an update.
I plan to coach onlt this year.
PS
Just so you all know how my new job is going:
It's 1:30pm on Thursday and just had pizza, sitting here typing with a Lager beer and keg less than 200 yards away.
Yes, SEI is a perfect fit!
Are you kidding me? I was going to call you last night and see how the new job was going but Eric started freaking out about us having to meet with a photographer when our Christmas presents weren't wrapped yet and we have dinner at his parents' house tonight (where we need to take all of the presents) because we fly out at 9:30 tomorrow morning for North Carolina & Christmas with my family. So as you can see, it got a little hectic. But hey, we booked our photographer!! :) [I was trying to see how much I could fit in one sentence!]
Chuck, the only reason I asked about purple tank tops (which are NOT tight, by the way) was due to the fact that the only people who were cheered for at the Nike race were TNT people. It was disheartening b/c I AM a TNT person but I wasn't wearing my singlet to run a half marathon. No one cheered for me. :(
Drinks -- how about Conshohocken? The Boat House has cheap drafts from 5 to 7 pm.
Can you guys believe that we need to have our BIOs by the 31st? Ugh!
P.S. Congrats, Deirdre! I'm glad the job is going so well! (Am I jealous? Just a little bit...but I can't work after having beer so more power to ya!)
Was BIO deadline in the folder? Did I miss that part of the meeting or was that an email
It was an email. I just sent it to you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!
Much Merriment folks... enjoy yummy food, friends and family! Safe travels! =)
Happy holidays to all and safe travels.
Jan 3 sounds great, something to look forward to after all the merriment has died down.
I'd like to know who DID participate in the ethnography project. Because I know who one of them was NOT.
My motto through the holidays is "people first," meaning if anyone's unhappy it doesn't matter if the gifts are wrapped or the house is clean. So, if you detect this situation just stop in your tracks and laugh outloud. Ha ha ha ha ha.
I can't remember the last time my house was clean!
I hope you all had a nice holiday. I am recovering from ham overload and my brain isn't quite funcioning yet. Luckily my boss's brain isn't working that well either so she doesn't mind. :)
I wish we had ham. Instead we had well, well, well-done steaks on the grill at the Wurzbach Farm. My jaw still hurts.
Let me know if you want me to send the girls over. They will work for cookies.
Hey All/ Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all. Shannon should we join USAT? We plan 4 tri events this coming year. What are the benefits of joing? Is any one doing doing the Philly tri sprint distance. I need a buddy. Glad to hear that the school year is done. What kind of grade did you get on your project? The 3rd looks OK. Where are you meeting? The places in Conshohocken were good. Let us know. Hey Chuck do you have pictures with you and Cinderella or any othe other Disney Princesses? Sounds like you had a great time. Bring your pictures with you. Talk to you soon.
Happy New Year! Let shoot for meeting at the Boathouse at 6pm in the bar area and once everyone shows up we can move to get a table. I know that sometimes it is difficult to get down there from the Montgomeryville area, so that should give us some flexiblity. I had a conversation with a friend of mine, who's brother is one of the owners of the Boathouse. He said that he will talk to his brother and will assure us that we all get silverware BEFORE our meals arrive. Shannon, do you want to extend this invite to the St. Ant's mentors? I am sure that the Boathouse has a large selection of teas to choose from.
Very whitty Chuck... I will have to check out the menu of the Boathouse first to check both tea AND cookie selection before extending the invite!! =)
Bernadette... if you plan on doing 3 or more USAT sanctioned events this year... it is worth joining USAT... so you won't pay the additional $10 per race... you get other membership benefits as well... check out this website for more information http://www.usatriathlon.org/MultiSport101/JoinUSAT/Benefits.aspx
Hey Bernadette...how about doing the Philly Olympic? You would kick some butt!! AND... there are a bunch of us doing it too... =)
I should know my project grade soon... I was happy with how things turned out. Hopefully the professors will be as well...
6pm on Thursday it is @ the Boathouse...
Everyone have a GREAT New Year... any exciting plans for tonight?
Shannon, I'm a little leary about the run for the philly olympic. That's alot of running. I''ll think about it Happy New Year everyone
Definitely think about it... there is a TON of time to train... you can kick the butt of the 10K run... =)
