Fall Running ?

I know that Dave is planning on running the Philly marathon... and Michaelle may be away that weekend... Chuck... have you decided if you are running the half-marathon that weekend... I think Nov. 23rd? Beth? Bernadette?

I am supposed to run 14miles that weekend (Hal Higdon and I just laid out my running plan between the Marine Corp Marathon in October and Disney Marathon in January... I am very excited I can run Disney much SLOWER than MCM!)... and think that running the half in Philly (while .9miles shorter than my scheduled run) would be fun... if I had a running buddy or buddies.

(Yes... I am not motivated to do work right now so planning my training is much more fun... ) Let me know....

I have not decided if I am going to do that yet, but I will start training for it after September 27th. I mean that I will probably scale back the biking and focus my workouts towards running more.

I don't know what the fall is going to hold with the Wurzbach family. Lizzie starts a new school, Maggie may have to go to a new afterschool program and I think that the Major is going to gone more than she is now. It may take a month or two to get that functioning.

When I am able to get my hands around my situation, I will let you all know.

Why sept. 27th? What event are you doing? Or is that your favorite day of the year... =)

Sounds like you have your hands full this fall...one good thing about focusing on running-it's only one sport which makes things easier than balancing all three in terms of training.

I'm not sure how fast I'll be after spending two weeks in Italy and Greece. That only gives me one month to get ready. If they do have the 8K again, I'd consider that...but no more half marathons for me until I can let my knees heal.

Sept. 27th is my 1 year anniversary of getting engaged!

Good luck with your training runs Shannon!

Chuck - Paul is going to meet up with us tomorrow, too!

To answer Chuck's question from the last post:
The swim waves that Shannon and I were in were beginner waves. While they are not as aggressive as the 30-34 males, for example, they are flibertigibits - lots of talking, changing direction, popping up, slowing down. And, as Shannon mentioned, requiring the kayaks to move out into the middle of the lane to "rescue" them before the turn buouy (?), about 250 meters.

I've signed up for Kings Grant (apparently tricked into believing that Shannon signed up as well), Marlton, Annapolis and Endless summer.

How about doing the ride from Oaks to Art Museum on Saturday morning? Anyone?

I haven't ruled out King's Grant... but considering I signed up for it the day before... I have not felt the need to register early.

Hey gang -I'm thinking of doing Wildwood on 8/23...any takers?

Is anyone coming out tonight at 6 pm for the bike/run Chuck posted - and drink after? Chuck bailed but Paul and I are still meeting up.

I guess I should say that Chuck might come for the drink after part... Or maybe he can answer for himself.

Hey gang - Paul and I had a good ride. We went from Spring Mill to where Umbria meets Main Street in Manayunk and then turned around. He didn't realize that going from mountain bike tires to road tires would require adjusting the brake pads so he was having a bit of a hard time slowing down going down those hills! But we made it back in one piece. Then I ran for 2 miles while he ran for 3 in almost the same amount of time!

I'm off to take a shower.

Anyone thinking about North Wildwood on August 23rd? Fran is doing it so I'm considering it...

I am thinking about the 23rd. That is supposed to be the first day of my week at the beach with the girls. I am trying to figure out how to get the girls (and my mother-in-law) down to the beach on the same day without me having to drive down and back. I think that the race starts too early to get them all up and down there in time for the start.

I just signed up for the North Wildwood Tri on Aug. 23rd if that sways anybody.
