Grumblings for the week of September 30th

Hello all!

I got an email from Bernadette & Dave looking for a place to stay in/near Ocean City, NJ for Saturday during the MS 150. Bernadette is having problems posting, so here is what she wrote...

"We lost the place we were staying at on September 29th in Ocean City NJ. Do you know of anyone who has a place we can sleep for the night of the 29th? Can you forward this to our other tri buddies since I don't have anyone else's email."

Let talk about trying to workout on Saturday morning, if possible. Since we are no longer outdoor swimming, I would suggest that we could meet at the Spring Mill parking lot (it is bigger than the snack hut) to start a run/bike. Friday night is my girls big birthday party (Theme: princesses) so I might on a bit of a sugar high Saturday morning...

Working out on Saturday sounds good... especially with the Pinehurst tri just around the corner... hopefully I can get the salt water residue out of my clothes from yesterday in time! I am going to check with two people I know who have (or at least did when we last spoke) places near Ocean City...

I hear those princess parties can get out of hand...better warn the neighbors! The big question on my mind is which princess is your favorite chuck... I know you have a top pick!

How did we get from weekly "ramblings" to "grumblings and rumblings" to plain old "grumblings?" Are you getting cranky from a lack of triathlons in your life?

Looks like I definitely am going to need everyone's help with my cool ethnography project on triathlons and communities and practice... HOW EXCITING!!

I am voting that we do not allow big words on this blog. ethnography? I did not think that was a real word and had to go to the dictionary for the meaning and I still don't understand what you are talking about. Is there beer involved?

As for this posts current name, I apologize. It was pre-coffee when I set it up. I will try for a more uplifting post next week.

Of course there is beer involved... participants have to be compensated for their involvement somehow. I also don't think a forensic accountant has any room to criticize strange words...when you are famous because of my high quality research-- you will thank me... I am sure of it

Are you saying that we may have a photo shoot in the Ethnography Journal that will accompany your project? I will have to get at fake tan and shave my legs again.

from the sounds of it, a photo shoot may be necessary regardless of the ethnography journal! =)

is there a definite plan to bike/run tomorrow?

First, what is ethnography? Please explain!!

Second, I'm back from vacation...and I'm an ENGAGED woman! Eric proposed on Thursday night. We were out on the deck while my family was inside so we walked in to champagne bottles popping. Apparently I was the only one who didn't think it was going to happen on this trip. My whole family was in on it! Just thought I'd let you all know! :)

Hi all I'm Back Beth ho wonderful. Congratulations can't wait to hear the whole story. Had a little accident about 39 miles into the MS 150 ride on saturday. Flipped over my handle bars into a ditch. Good news no broken bones but many bruises, lots of aches and pains, 5 stiches and 1 mild concussion later. Needless to say it wasn't my best day and Dave didn't get to ride the 100 miles on Saturday. Feeling pretty crummy this week so no exercise of any kind going on. The Great news is Dave rode 135 miles from Ocean City NJ to Lansdale on Sunday Very proud of him. Iam trying to do the Cocered bridges ride on the 14th but it all depends on how I am feeling. Glad to hear from all of you. How was the Princess party? Belle is my favorite with Ariel a close second. Hope we can get together soon
