What week is this?

Greetings. I tip my hat to all of you that took the bike ride on Sunday. I wasn't going to bring the girls out since it was still below 40 and I did not have anyone to watch them. It looks like warmer weather is on the way.

I signed up for Black Bear today and got a room at Split Rock Lodge. The Hampton Inn wasn't available and agree with Michelle that it would be an early drive up there on Sunday morning. I think that I may load up the wagon and bring the whole Wurzbach team along since the "lodge" has pools and things for them to do on Saturday.

Looks like today is supposed to be an indication of the weather for the rest of the week. Is anybody up for running?

Staying the overnight at Black Bear could be fun... couldn't think of a better way to celebrate my birthday! HaHa... keep us posted on the time share Beth

OK Kids...I signed up this morning before 7 AM and still paid $80! Woohoo! And I renewed my USAT membership. It's been an expensive morning and I haven't even showered yet!

I checked the time share. There is one that we can TRY for...the Resort at Split Rock. Right now there isn't anything available but I'm going to call and check often. So I suggest we all book a room at the Lodge and then we have until May 15th to cancel. If we use a "bonus" week for the time share, I can't book it until April 12th. However, if we get it, that means there are usually 2 bedrooms, 1 with a queen bed and 1 with 2 twins, and a pull-out sofa bed (that is usually a double). And they usually have kitchens and laundry, etc. The price is roughly $225 for a week...we could probably check in Friday night and then stay as long as you want. Which would be nice because we could go back there after the race to shower before heading back to Philly. SO - I'm working on it. If we can't get it, then the back-up rooms will be necessary.

On that note, can I share a room with someone? Shannon and Michaelle? The price is too steep for me to have my own room unless Eric wants to come. He didn't sound too excited about it last night, though.

When I signed up for the race, in the box that asked how did you hear about this race? I put Shannon Kane. :)

Anyway - back to the race. I'll bring the grill. And I'll keep you all posted on the time share.

I'm gonna be late for work! Have a good day all!

p.s. I can't run on Thursday. We're finalizing the menu for the wedding. Anyone interested in something Saturday? Do we have another bike ride on Sunday? I can't find my schedule...

There is no Team practice scheduled for Saturday. We are supposed to either swim or swim/run. I might talk to a friend who has access to Germantown Academy's pool on Saturday morning to see if I can swim there. Trying to swim at the Y is insane on Saturday mornings. Sunday is supposed to be a group run/bike at Fairmount Park.

Funny-I also did the membership to USTA yesterday. Between that, the Black Bear fee and the SRL reservation I made the girls eat cans of tuna fish and we only use candles for lighting.

Thursday run works for me.

Once we all become world class triathletes with countless sponsors... paying big $ for races will be a thing of the past! =)

I can do a long run on Saturday morning... I am planning on running Thursday too.

Finalizing the wedding menu sounds like fun...

I definitely say we share a room... keep the cost down... did you already happen to book a room? If so... great job! =)

AArrgghh, blew my comments away!@!!!

Anyway, booked a room for 4 for 5/31. $157.50 including tax. It's 99 plus tax if we want Sunday as well. Checkin 4, checkout 11...

Chuck, glad to see you've taught your girls to follow instructions.

check out this NJ Masters website. There's a link to a website where you can find a swimming pool anywhere in the world!!!

if you want to come to Philly... you can swim at Penn... just let me know. finding a place to group swim would be nice... just to add something different since swimming alone gets annoying...

outdoor swimming in NJ starts Thursday, May 1st...

On April 12th, Maggie's school is having a 5k race. We don't have swim practice that Saturday, so if you don't feel like going down to Memorial Hall, please come join me. http://www.springzing5k.com/

I hate my work! I had a huge comment ready to post but I ran out of quota time!

Thurs - Paul will be there for the run.

I'll keep checking the time share for Black Bear. I'm also going to check with Eric's friend. They have a house up there where we'd all fit. I'll see if it's available and how much. It's big enough for everyone including chuck's clan.

Can't make it on the 12th - got roped into Eric's family's fishing trip.

Shannon - when/how long are you running on Saturday. I want to get some miles in but I have football at 10AM. I could go before or after. We play at Fairmount Park - near Memorial Hall - so it's easy to get down to West River/Kelly Drive from there.

Received confirmation all the Wurzbach ladies will be going up to Black Bear. Dave better not DQ or he will be subject to taunts from Maggie and Lizzie.

Swam at lunch and ran on the trail after work. With the warm weather, the trail was quite active. The pool was much less active at lunch so that will be where I will be heading this point forward. Goggles fogged up big time and I had no spit. Frustrating..

I hadn't thought about the details of running on Saturday... I could meet u before football... what done r u done playing? I am co-hosting a baby shower (my personal HELL!) later in the day.

See folks tomorrow for the run...=)

Football is usually an hour so 10 to 11 AM. I can't run a really long time or I'll have no energy for football, but I was thinking 4 to 6 miles depending on the legs. I wouldn't mind meeting you around 8 or 8:30 somewhere. That would give me an hour to run and then get to the field around 9:30-9:45.

I got word that Danelle won't be there tomorrow but she is forwarding the buddy run info to her people, too. Haven't heard anything else from her, though. Only Paul will be there from my group.

Guess what - My nephew was born today! Michael James Foremsky! 8 lbs 12 oz and 19 inches long!

Beth said...

oops - make that 21 inches long!

CONGRATS AUNTIE BETH!! =)

Chuck W. said...

Beth-Congratulations on you new nephew.

I am going to try on swim again at lunch today and meet up to run this evening. I plan on running 3mi tonight.

I would be interested in running on Saturday morning too. Can we meet at Memorial Hall and run along the race trail? Does anyone know if the road will be closed on Saturday morning or just Sunday morning?

Hey, does everyone know that Shelly is Michaelle? Shelly is what my family calls me, and since a family member got me started at blogger, it goes on.

Ran into a tri person in the locker room this morning. She said she booked rooms at a place called Moody's for Black Bear. Only $60 per room - so, if there's 4 of us we could book two rooms and each have our own bed for the same price as Split Rock. Or stay for half the price. Input?

Didn't work out for a few days, and could only run in Florida. Finally got on a bike at the gym today, and boy did it feel good. I think I'm addicted...

Off to Europe tomorrow evening, back 4/14. I'll miss the workout company for sure.

Chuck W. said...

Shelly-I could not find Moody's in the Poconos. Did she give you a phone number or website?

Beth said...

To answer your question - Yes, we all know it's you Shelly! ;)

I don't mind Memorial Hall b/c that's where football is. West River is closed on Saturdays and Sundays from April to October so you're in luck!

Used the baby shampoo in my goggles suggestion and it worked! Thanks for the suggestion (I went back to the older posting). Last night it was Paul and two St. Ant's team members at the run. They all were rabbits and only ran with them for the 1/2 half. If it is raining, we aren't running, are we?

Beth said...

I'm not running if it's raining. I don't need to risk getting sick. I can run at the gym if necessary. Let's meet at 8:30 at Memorial Hall - in front of the Please Touch Museum and then we can go from there. If it's raining at 7:30, then let's bag it. Sound OK?

I'm off to the Friday night family dinner! Woohoo!! I'll check back tonight to see what the consensus is.

Chuck W. said...

I agree. I will text Beth and Shannon in the morning with my plans. I am going to try to swim at Germantown Academy tonight with a Master swim program. Will let you know how that works out

Hey tri buddies, It was cold and wet on West River drive today. Wish you were there. I wanted to show off my new pink tires that were my early anniversary gift. Maybe next week. Have a good week everyone.
