To all the ladies who participated in the Triathlon today-congratulations! You all looked really strong out there. It was a pleasure to take a Sharpie to your arms/legs/hands and yank you from the water.
Dave-I hope that you don't get poison ivy from leaning your bike against that tree. I looked at the calendar at that Irish Pub bike ride and can't make it. Roy and Nancy (Perk House owners) are having a birthday party that day and it is important for all's sake that not miss it.
I know that Michelle said that she was doing King's Grant (Aug 10?). Does anyone else plan on that race?
Planning on 30 ride/30 run on Monday. As Hank the Tank would say, "Who is coming with me?"

Hey ladies we were great today. Our results are posted on CGI web site. Chuck thanks for the hand out of the water and with the sharpie. Shannon so sorry about your car. Glad you made it home ok. What is next event for everyone? Have a good week everyone. Has anyone heard from Deidre?
Thanks for the support, well wishes and encouragement in dealing with my car drama... sorry if I was grumpy and I know I had foul language... I am doing jumping jacks as I type! =) NJ State is my next triathlon... and Michaelle's too... I think! Not sure what's after that... you have SheRox correct... don't think I am racing it, but hopefully can come cheer you on!!
While I know that you all did the triathlon yesterday, but I am sore this morning. I guess the grab and pull at the swim exit does a number on your hamstring and butt muscles. Thankfully I am not in an office environment in which people would actually be asking me how my weekend was. I think that my response would be something like "Well, my a-- is really sore from Sunday's Philadelphia Women's Triathlon..."
Now I am doing jumping jacks too.
Great job ladies! What a great race. I think I'll make it an annual thing. I'm skipping SheRox. The next race for me is Marlton unless I find something in between now and then.
do you think you could sweet talk Michelle into letting me in the back door for the NJ State sprint? what day is that again?
My back and legs are sore today but not too bad. I still worked out with my trainer at lunch. I'm going to check out my official time on the website.
The NJ Triathlon in July 27th.
Just got back from vacuuming my car... good times! =) Hopefully the windows will be fixed tomorrow... I should go running (at least according to the marathon training plan)... and sadly it has stopped raining! Darn...
Since I volunteered and met Michele at the race this weekend, I dropped her an email and asked if I could sign up for the NJ Sprint. I will let you know the response.
You must have ESPN Chuck... I was going to suggest an email to her... especially since you both volunteered and despite being sold out... I am guessing on a # of no-shows... a la BB and PW...
Okay, I will bite...what is a BB and a PW? Bad Boys and Pretty Women? Big Bikers and Pasty Wiffleballers?
I sent her an email and she responded with an "I will let you know". I did not include a request for Beth too as I thought that might have been asking too much from me. Sorry!
Also, I have a big silver framed mirror that was hanging in my dining room that I no longer need. We got a new piece of furniture for that wall. If anyone is interested, please let me know. Also, my neighbor who just moved left some chairs and a couch. Vintage (old) stuff but could be good for college apt.
Black Bear and Philly Women... =) Although your options are much more entertaining and sound like an interesting gathering of folks. I am sitting here while my windows are fixed... good times! Thank goodness I thought to bring my laptop... otherwise I would be forced to watched fuzzy TV for a couple of hours... how big is the silver framed mirror?
The mirror is 50" x 40".
I went to Ajax to get my window fixed. 62nd & Passyunk. Never been on the Passyunk bridge before. Anyway, place is run by a woman who also does window replacement. And maybe this is sexist, but I think that only a woman would have noticed that one of the ten stickers on the broken window was still valid (for Rutgers parking), and saved it out of the mess for me.
I got to sit outside watching the street for 15 minutes.
Swimming and weights last night. Thinking about bike/run tonight. Followed by a big dinner!
My windows were fixed as well... and a woman was also involved in my window fixing. =) So nice to have a car complete with glass... in the windows and not simply on the carpet. =) I ran yesterday... it was not fun. I anticipate a similar run tonight... I missed swimming last because of the car issue... so I should swim... but what I should do and what I do are different worlds. =)
Ladies - You were all GREAT! and getting better evertime.
Bernadette, Michael and I are going to Lake Placid this weekend. I am volunteering (Bike special needs), food and supply bags for riders second 56 mile loop. On Saturday my brother and I will do the course (halfiron distance) then on Monday we signup for next years IRONMAN. I think my knees are starting to knock.
Tonight I am riding home from work then running on the treadmill while watching the Tour de France.
Does running while watching the Tour de France count as biking too? =)
Cute Shannon! Glad your car is all fixed up!
Dave - you inspire me! Have a great time at Lake Placid! I am jealous. I know you are going to have a great time! When you get back you will have to tell me how many times you got goose bumps watching the race!
I'm on my way to another dance lesson. Fun stuff here. My future mother-in-law is crazy, by the way, and I'm going to be on a mother-daughter weekend trip to Ohio this weekend with her and the rest of Eric's family. 7 of us in total. Thank God I'm driving just me and his sister!
Chuck - are you doing anything tomorrow or Thursday workout-wise? Let me know.
Dave - can you send me your pictures from Sunday? I'd like to check them out and see what I can post on the blog. Thanks!
Beth - I have lost track of your email address. Please supply.
Safe travels to folks this weekend... basket making and an ironman... whoa! =)
I'm supposed to play soccer tonight in one of my summer leagues... kinda scary since I only played for a short while in Philly before jumping ship... hopefully I'll not look too foolish... and I did hang out with the Maddens... so maybe their soccer skills will have transfered to me... I wish I could count tonight's game as part of my run for the day... hmmmm.... perhaps!
I say to count it!
b4mski@yahoo.com - thanks Dave!
I skipped the gym at lunch - too hot to run outside. I'm going to swim tonight and maybe try a run around the neighborhood. We'll see.
Chuck - are you working out tomorrow?
Shannon, don't you run around on the soccer field? That counts. You can do some intervals while you're just waiting around.
Anyone going to Wenonah tomorrow night? I've lost my two regular girls, Shannon and Nicole.
What about this weekend? Any takers for an Oaks ride?
Great pictures, Dave! :)
I'll work on getting Shelly into the picture...
You all have convinced me that my hour of running on the soccer field (we have no subs tonight... thankfully summer soccer is two 30minute halves instead of 45mins) should count as part if not all of my run for the day... and I LIKE IT!!!
Like the picture!
It looks like no Oaks workout for me this weekend. I am heading the Kenny Chesney concert Saturday afternoon/night and have a sitter from 2pm on already.
I have a sitter coming tonight for 1-1/2 while the girls eat dinner so I can run near the pool. I will have the girls meet me there for a post-run dip. There is supposed to be a reception at Wings Field for some new jet that will fly from there, so hopefully the girls and I can sneak in to see it.
Dave-Make sure to scope out good camping sites for the rest of us for next year.
I'm on my way to the gym for a marathon workout. 30 min on treadmill, 30 on elliptical, 30 on bike, 30 swim (if I can make it) and then abs! Wooohooo! I'll let you know if I survive!
OK - SO I made it through everything but the 30 minute swim. After 5 minutes I was tired of working out.
I just found the perfect "traveling triathlon" for next year! Apparently this race is already sold out for this year, but it would be perfect for next year! We could make a long weekend out of it and visit some wineries while we’re there!

It's Aug 2/3 this year...so unless SheRox lowers their price, I will consider this one for that weekend next year.
Dumb, dumb and dumber-er... Ran last night at 6:30 without eating anything but watermelon since lunch. At the 25:00 mark, I started to get wobbly legs and light headedness. Of course, I was a mile out from the end of the run and in the sun. Not so fun.
I am going to try and swim at lunchtime today.
Glad to hear you survived Beth... sorry about your not so good workout Chuck... I ran for about 50minutes before soccer... along the (nasty, smelly, dirty) Potomac and watched planes land at the airport... I was thought playing soccer on the National Mall was cool for that reason... soccer was fun. I did indeed remember how to play and didn't mess up. =) I am supposed to run 6 miles today... my last run before Saturday's 12 mile run... I should have gotten up early but didn't... so running in the heat is my punishment later.
The group Philadelphia Tri picture is in. If you want me to email you your copy, please send me an email (I don't think that you want your home address on a public blog).
It is stupid hot outside! I walked two branches across the lawn to arborist that is taking down a neighbor's tree and was sweatin'! Good luck to anyone that is working out outside tonight!
So, I'm the new Chuck in the photo...
There's another Michaelle Cooke in the NJ State tri - but she spells her name all wrong (michelle cook). and she's 37. There's 2500 people in that race - crazy.
Volunteered to do body marking and pull people out of the water at SheROX. They have a pretty neat volunteer website.
I'll be staying cool outside by swimming in Lake Wenonah tonight.
Very nice! I'm not sure what I'm doing that weekend other than getting my hair cut at 9 AM on the 2nd. I think I will RELAX! :)
Chuck - did you mean mail? I'd like one but you can just give me one the next time run. Maybe I'll return your USAT checklist that I've been carrying around with me everywhere.
Shannon - good job on the soccer playing! Good luck with the run later, too. Please be careful! Try the wet washcloth around your neck, too!
I'm going to be packing tonight. I've worked out every day since Sunday so I think I can take the next few days off. I have a training session on Monday with Yassya. So I'm going to try to run at least once this weekend.
Have a great weekend everyone!
Okay, if you people haven't figured out by now, sometimes what is in my brain doesn't make it to the fingers typing on the keyboard. I have longer arms. If I could type with my elbows, it would all make sense.
Yes-send me your MAILING address via EMAIL.
Sorry for the confusion...
