Hello all.
I hope that as the "season" winds it way down that all are doing well. As for myself, it has been crazy with the girls starting school and hurricane season at work. On Sunday at 8am, the Philadelphia Tri Club and Bryn Mawr Running Company are having runs that range from 5 miles to 14 miles for those preparing for full and half-marathons. I am going to try and run the 5 mile. They say they are going to group the people together by ability. The are also supposed to have a running clinic. After the run enjoy some snacks provided by BMRC while you take advantage of the knowledgeable staff as they analyze your gait to ensure you are running in the shoe that is appropriate for your biomechanics. Since I have never had a running coach and my technique is pretty much follows the "one foot in front of the other" approach, I think that it can't hurt. Although none of you are PTCers, I am sure that would not be considered a problem if you came.
Through a friend of mine, I got a season ticket for the Eagles this year. Yesterday's game was a lot of fun, as we tailgated prior to the game. If anyone is actually going to a game this year and would care to join me for a beer/food product, please let me know. It was a lot of fun walking around the parking lot and seeing the different pre-game festivities. Some of these people were professional tailgaters, with outdoor bars and dj systems!
Alrighty now. I expect a message from each of you detailing your workout schedule for this week. NO SLACKERS!

Thursday: 4mile run/swim

Great BLOG Chuck. Where do they meet on Sunday morning?
The HS soccer season is in high gear (every weekday) but the Philadelphia Catholic League (new league for LCHS) teams are not very good. I have had to quietly pull players off the field and play down but we still score.
I have been running 12 miles at Peace Valley Park on Sunday mornings. Then running 3 and 6 miles during the weekdays. I need to run long again this weekend. I will be running the Philadelphia Distance Run on September 21.
On September 27 & 28 I will ride in the MS150.
On Saturdays and Sundays I also referee soccer games. Swimming takes a back seat during the soccer season.
Let's see - total body weights on Monday. Pilates on Tuesday. Running on Wednesday. And either weights or pilates again on Thursday. Then my exercise will be bending my elbow and lifting my right hand up to my mouth in order to drink my fruity frozen drinks on the cruise!
Shannon - your training schedule is GREAT, keep it up girl!
Beth - don't overdue the elbow bending. Have fun on the cruise.
Chuck - Do you have the location information about Philly Tri Club & Bryn Mawr Running Club events or where can I find it?
Hey Dave - I've been doing extra bicep curls just so I don't get injured this weekend! :)
ONE MONTH to the wedding!!
OK - I went for a run last night that lasted 17 minutes. How pathetic am I? I'm going to forward you all an email that Fran sent me about a 5K run on 9/27 if you don't have anything else to do.
My brain is already on vacation! Yeah vacation!!!
Vacation? What you are going on is a Booze Cruise! Have fun with your lady friends and don't let them take too many "This is Beth REALLY drunk" pictures. You will have to let us know if you have time before (or after) your wedding so that we can take you out for a drink to celebrate.
It is hard to believe that it is Thursday already. I have not laced up my sneakers yet this week, what a slacker! Mind you I have run to the bus, run to pre-school, run to cheerleading practice, run to Staples, run to Fedex...Right now I have a sitter from 5:45 to 7:15 on Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday I worked until 9pm, so hopefully I will be able to get something done tonight or I am going to have to be better at working out at lunch. These first few weeks of school is always a learning process for the girls and I.
Dave-I sent you the evite for the Sunday BMRC run. On my last bike ride with PTC, there was 5 or 6 people there that had either competed at Lake Placid or are scheduled to race in 2009.
The girls and I are going to the Poconos the Fran race weekend.
Some of you were asking about running this fall. Here are the PTC scheduled workouts that have been posted.

Please do not be intimidated by the word speed, Bob Schwelm does an excellent job of putting together groups who are of similar abilities. In addition, look for the Philadelphia Triathlon Club, Kelly green T-Shirts if you would like to discuss modifying the workout to meet your needs. That means if you are second guessing your ability level do not be scared; we can tweak the workout to meet your needs. We just want to see you out there doing what you can to reach your maximum potential and you will be amazed at the progress you will make.
