TNT Mentoring

As of last week Shannon "spoke with Amy Rivera (she is the new staff person for triathlons and century rides)... basically the mentors are supposed to support and help with fundraising (along with general support) of TNT folks... it involves some random paperwork, checking in with folks, encouraging etc. As a mentor you can fundraise (which gives you the opportunity to participate just like we did last year... $ covered etc) or not fundraise (which means if you want to do the event, you have to register, pay to get there etc). You have to attend meetings to recruit people... (ie: the meeting on 10/22)... the meetings that are happening now are just for spring season... which means the ONLY triathlon event is St.Anthony's. Philly and hopefully a half-event will happen during summer meetings which start in the winter sometime."

So the no fundraise mentor option means that you do the event on your own but get to train with the team? That does not seem to be all that difficult but would like to ask Ms. Rivera some additional questions. Can you send along her contact information?

Spent a nice weekend in the mountains. Did some hiking, but mostly did a lot of eating and sitting around and fishing. It was great.

Hi All,
Back in Phila, They had to drag me onto the plane to leave Florida! Back on my healthy eating / workout program, plan to still hit the meeting in Consh tomorrow if anyone else wants to go - I'll be there - and I'll try to find additional info on the "coaching only" option Chuck was describing. I have no interest in St Anthony's, just Phila tri at this point so I might be game to coach.

Thanks Deirdre! Besides the mentor program update, I look forward to the posting on the healthy eating/workout program that we should be following now that you have hung with the experts at the spa.

Hope the meeting went well Deirdre... Todd should have been there along with Rena representing the tri folks... Amy Rivera was at the meeting at Jefferson hospital... did you get to talk with Robyn or Tim about mentoring for Philly?

I have decided that training for the half-marathon/marathon is boring... just running is no fun! I miss our group trainings and socializing!! =(

PS: Be on the lookout for my ethnography questions later this week... good times!!
