Deirdre it is good to hear from you. Moving out of a 6 bedroom house is not fun so good luck with that. Florida sounds wonderful and warm. How have you been. Did the TNT people bike today after swimming? When were you all getting together to bike. Chuck I see what you mean about Black Bear, definitely need some climbing practice. I would agree with Shannon about not feeling real confortable in traffic to practice our climbing so if we could find a place with little or no traffic I woud prefer that. If you are getting together Sunday April 13 let us know.Give us a call if biking Sunday. 215-368-7765 Madden home or 267-474-9567 Bernadette's cell or 267-474-9587 Dave's cell

The weather tomorrow AM is supposed to be better than later in day...

The plan (as of now) is to meet at Memorial Hall at 9am... we can ride MLK and do some hill work on the Fairmount Hills which will either have no traffic or very little...

Maybe (well... we should) run after =)

Bernadette and I will be at Memorial Hall on Sunday morning for the bike ride. The more the merrier. See you then.

Thought you all would like these. Shannon did you buy a new bike? Thanks for your encouragement today. Don't think I could have made it up Sweet Briar without you. Still nervous about climbing but feel more positive now.Good ride today

A measurement of 44-36-40 doesn't refer to the latest Playboy centerfold, but that new gear ratio you were considering for your Trek.

A PowerBar starts tasting better than a Snickers.

You wear your heart rate monitor when having sex.

You're too tired for hanky-panky on a Friday night but pump out a five-hour century on Saturday.

You have stopped even trying to explain to your spouse why you need two bikes...you just go buy another one and figure it will all work out in the divorce settlement.

You buy your crutches instead of renting.

You see nothing wrong with discussing the connection between hydration and urine color.

You find your DMT carbon shoes to be more comfortable and stylish than your Gucci loafers.

You have more money invested in your bike clothes than in the rest of your combined wardrobe.

You see a fit, tanned, Lycra-clad young woman ride by, and the first thing you check out is her bicycle.

Despite all that happy hour fat you put on, you'll skim weight by buying lightweight carbon components.

You use wax on your chain, but not on your car.

Your bike has more miles on its computer then your car's odometer.

You wear your bike shorts swimming.

You have more bike jerseys than dress shirts.

You take your bike along when you shop for a car - just to make sure the bike will fit inside.

You clean your bike(s) more often then your car.

You're a committee member for a Bike Club.

You can't seem to get to work by 8:30 AM, even for important meetings, but you don't have any problems at all meeting your buddiess at 5:30 AM for a hammerfest.

You can tell your spouse with a straight face, that it's too hot to mow the lawn and then bike off for a century.

You hear someone had a crash and your first question is "How's the bike?"

You actually get these jokes and pass them on to other friends who are addicted to cycling.

Hehe... those are funny! =) I didn't commit to a new bike today, but feel in love with two... I am actually going back on Friday to continue my love fest.... they felt so perfect during my brief test ride today... dare to dream! I agree that our ride and hill climbing combo was good today... we should continue integrating those into our rides.

Since I know that you all find this stuff facinating, here is what I came home to on Sunday...

-After a diet of birthday cake, pizza and black olives, Liz threw up on herself and the back of the car. The car now smells like upholstery cleaner...and throw up.

-Maggie was headbutted in the face and knocked loose her two front teeth. Luckily, they are baby teeth.

-When Denise was heading back to the army yesterday evening, the engine light went on in the car. It sits now in the shop-repairs unknown.

I am heading to CT tomorrow morning and will not be back until Wednesday night. I also will not be at the Thursday night run. I have a ticket in a Suite for Game 4 of the Flyers/Caps game.

Abandoning the run (and post run beer) for a hockey game... shame on you!

Shannon said...

Anyone else plan on running/beer drinking on Thursday?

Beth said...

I sent the email to my people...we'll see if I get any response after dangling a carrot in front of them like beer!

Beth said...

BTW - I caught 3 fish this weekend! Cooked 'em too! And also learned how to shoot a rifle. Two shots in the bullseye!! I'm an outdoorwoman already!! Yeehaw!

Beth said...

oops...outdoorswoman!

BernadetteM said...

Boy Chuck sounds like a fun time for you. Shannon what kind of bikes are you looking at? What kind of frame, what color? etc... Beth so you're an outdoors woman now. Where were you fishing and shooting? We are on for Thursday and if I had FLyers tickets I'd go too so have fun Chuck. Have a good week everyone. Any of you ladies going to the swim clinic on April 29 with the She Rox team?

Chuck W. said...

The question isn't if you caught or cooked them, it should be did you clean them. If so, then you are a true outdoorswoman.

I am heading to meetings and then hopefully running before jumping in the car for the drive home. I know I am getting serious about this training stuff when at dinner I had fish, rice and broccoli. And one beer.
...okay, I had ice cream too...

Beth said...

You just had to bring that up, didn't you? No. I didn't clean them. Eric's cousin cleaned them for us. We were up in the Poconos and fished on Lake Tobyhanna.

I'll be running tomorrow but I can't stay for the post-run beer. I have to do my wifely duties and go over to Eric's friend's house...who we still haven't given their Christmas presents! It's bad enough that Eric doesn't want to go...why drag me with him?

Anyway - we need to get a new picture for the front page of the blog. So either at the Out and Back or Black Bear, we need to get a little team photo!

Shannon - definitely tell me what bikes you're looking at and what shop? I need to start looking!

Shannon said...

=( my rental wetsuit doesn't fit... this sucks... I quit!

Chuck W. said...

Can't they give you a different size?

Shannon said...

Hopefully... but apparently the 'size' i need they are out of (find that questionable)... so they are overnighting me another wetsuit... and I am mailing back this one... why does my natural response of wanting to eat ice cream to feel better seem wrong somehow...

Beth said...

Don't worry! The replacement should fit!

I'll be there tonight and now don't have to rush to go over to Eric's friend's house. I haven't heard from my people - Paul is a game time decision. Danelle said she'd be there. Shannon- any of your people coming? How long were you planning on running tonight?

Chuck W. said...

I will be running with you all tonight...mentally...

Beth said...

Chuck - have fun at the game! At least we will all be burning calories before we consume our beverages!

Shannon said...

A couple of folks responded 'maybe'... we shall see... I was thinking the usual run... to the end of the trail.
