St. Anthony's/Out & Back

I hope that all had a great weekend and got to go out and enjoy the great weather. Shannon-Good Luck at St. Anthony's on Sunday. I look forward to hearing about what it is like to stand on the winner's podium in front of all your adoring fans. I know that you will make the team proud.

As for training this week, I am going to try and run on the trail Tuesday and Thursday and Bike on Wednesday. This is, of course, all after work. I will swim at lunch.

I will make sure to remember to mention all my training buddies ala the blog when being interviewed about my St.A's victory! =) I am planning to run Thursday as well... last of the taper workouts! My only worry for the week is my cold has moved to my ears... which are now blocked! =(

Have fun at the Out&Back... funny mentoring email we won't have to worry about with Philly-- fear of being eaten by sharks... haha! The conversations around this topic have been priceless!

Good Luck Shannon, dance on those pedals.

My brother Kevin is running in the Boston Marathon right now. His projected finish time is 3:14.

No sharks, but a body wrapped in cellafane was found at the base of the Strawberry Mansion bridge on the Martin Luther King side of the Schuykill River in early April.

Good luck Shannon. You will be great. Smile pretty on the winner's podium. Take a decongestant for your ears and keep well hydrated since the medicine will dry you out. Have fun and run like the wind. I will be in San Diego from Wednesday till Sunday so have fun running on Thursday.

Don't worry about sharks, apparently they are not all that big. When I was in Cocoa Beach, someone got bitten, but it just bit her foot. Because it was so small.

I loved Bernadette's post describing bicycling (and perhaps) triathlon addicts. I would add one: when your muscles are sore, you figure the best cure is to do another workout. In a different sport, of course.

I should be at the run on Thursday.

What are we going to do about a mentor-led workout this weekend? Bike ride on Sunday morning? Let's discuss.

My suggest is that we meet at Spring Mill and ride up into Valley Forge Park and back. From there we can do the run. Unfortunately, it is now calling for showers on both Saturday and Sunday. Should we send the notice out now with a possibility of cancellation?

Weather permitting, I am going to meet the Philly Tri Club people on Wednesday night for a ride from the Conshy train station to Valley Forge. I will give you a heads up on what those trails are like as I have never taken that route myself.

Chuck, it's just the opposite of what our Oaks ride is. It's a little hilly in Conshy but nothing really steep or long. Haven't you gone all the way from Oaks to Conshy yet?

We should probably put the word out about Sunday morning. Does anyone have the email with all of the mentor's email addresses? Maybe we can all email about Sunday before telling Amy to broadcast it.

Hmmm...I was under the impression is that at the split in Valley Forge that you can ride through the park, which is a bit hilly-er than the trail. I will let you know after Wednesday night. Would you suggest that we just meet at transition area instead?

As for contact the Philly team, I suggest that we send Amy a notice and have her blast it to the rest of the team.

I gotcha. That was what I was saying in one of the last couple of blogs about where to bike that is hilly. If you take the bike path to Valley Forge and turn around, it's the same path we've been on. If you go up the hill (which fits only about one bike) and over the bridge, you get to the park which is definitely hilly.

Turns out we missed the Revolutionary Run! It was on Sunday at VFP. 5 miles. I drove by it on my way to church.

Tomorrow is becoming one of those crazy days... which I am not happy about... such is life! I am planning on running in Philly in the evening to save time... and probably because making to Spring Mill by 6pm could be tough... =( I know you will miss me! Enjoy the run... I will see you all next week... Have a GREAT time at the Out & Back... Chuck... have you signed up for Broad St??

GOOD LUCK with your HALF MARATHON DAVE!!!! =)

Good luck with your races everyone!!

Chuck - you better sign up for Broad Street! If I can do it, you can do it!

Let's talk about practice on Sunday. Danelle sent me an email about Sunday saying that 9 AM won't work for her, but 2 PM will. I think that it should be early given it's a team practice! What are your thoughts? I probably won't check back here so please email me at work!
